I'm not the guy that watches these shock value horror movies out there like Human Centipede, i'm a slasher fan and i'm not a fan of those movies that just want to shock you, i prefer good plot over exhagerated violence and gore, i was shocked watching Aja's The Hills Have Eyes, but not shocked watching Martyrs, i had slight discomfort on the end with the girl flayed, but the flaying was offscreen, we only see her mutilated body after.

Movies affect everybody differently. What you may find extreme, is what someone else may find weak, and vice versa.

It wasn't the Gore that made this film so shocking, it was the overall theme of the film.. Girls being sacrificed to find afterlife, just to find out it was literally all for nothing.. I think the Gore was pretty low in this, but it stuck with me for other reasons..
