Mike is supposed to repeat this line to Butterfly. When he sits down with her, he says "and miles to go before YOU sleep"
For those who have seen the movie, the girls drive off, and make it probably a few miles from the bar before Mike puts them "to sleep."

You misheard or are misremembering Julia's recital of the poem, because he said every line correctly.
