Literally no need for 2nd half

First half was amazing. 2nd half was almost unneeded??

Or maybe In just one of those ppl who likes the "bad guy" to remain invincible and powerful and epic

if he were stalking the women i would think he would have known that one was packing a pistol.

plus his plan seemed to be much smarter in the 1st one.

reply

He wasn't stalking the second girls long, he jumped the gun on them because he was too excited to wait. He just saw them that day at the gas station so really only followed them about 5 hours or so. The first girls he knew their names and everything and had their pictures developed and in his mirror. The second girls he just started taking their pictures, he saw an opportunity to mess with them when they were playing ship's mast. That's why he was over powered by them, he didn't know who he was dealing with or what they were packing.

Stuntman Mike was inside the diner within earshot of the girls as they discussed their professions and Kim's gun.

Totally agree. The first set of girls were way more fun and attractive and their interactions with Kurt were fantastic. That chick screaming about busting a nut over and over... not funny.

Watching it again and could not agree more. First part was great, very much a grindhouse movie/feel with tons of homages and great lines, Kurt Russel is excellent, with a great crash at the end.

The second part was totally out of place, different, and un needed, felt like more of a bad modern movie, the second set of girls were so annoying they were unwatchable, Kurt Russel not very interesting, yes we got a decent(one with the girl on the hood was the best) chase but even it did not live up to what was in the first part or was worth sitting through a second part. Turning Kurt Russel into a big wuss in the second part did not make much sense either considering in the first film he is a ruff and tough stunt driver, was in someway disfigured, and had no problem crashing a car head on into a another car and severely injuring himself. In the second part he is happy go lucky and then cries and looses it from a graze/flesh wound? BS. Totally uncharacteristic. If Tarantino just left out the 2nd part it would have worked much better.

You completely missed the point

And until the car chases, Death Proof was one of the most boring movie-going experiences I've ever endured

Some girls needed to get revenge tho.

Heh, I know right? It seems all the guys I come across just hated the second half (except for Kurt Russell) because they prefer the women as sex objects and victims so obviously seeing the big macho guy getting his karma bitch from girls who don't even show their boobs... unnecessary 

the second half is the entire point of the movie

the extreme contrast is intended, they are supposed to feel like two different movies, because they basically are and what is being said lies in between

Was there "Literally no need" or was it "almost unneeded"?

The op literally does not know the meaning of the word "literally".
