Hotter scene in a Tarantino film: Salma Hayek or Vanessa Ferlito?

Salma Hayek's off the charts sexy and hot bar scene in From Dusk Till Dawn or Vanessa Ferlito's sexy as hell lap dance to Kurt Russell in Grindhouse's Death Proof? I just hope one day, Quentin gets Paula Patton, Asia Argento or Shawnee Smith to do one like them, that would insanely hot.

Is there really even a contest? I'm a heterosexual woman but my vote is firmly in the Salma camp. The best thing about Vanessa's is Kurt. ;)

He wrote, produced, and acted. Just didn't direct. Even though he didn't direct, FDTD oozes with Tarantino's influence. But, you are right. Even though I know all that I still think of it as a Tarantino film too. Same for Nightmare but Burton probably had even more influence.

Disagree. May have had sensibilities like Coraline but was even more similar to Corpse Bride (completely Burton). Nightmare is Tim's creation through and through. Character's, story, production, use of Elfman. It is the essence of Burton. Selik lucked out getting his name attached as director, imo. Not that he did a bad job, obviously, but you kind of lose credibility a bit when you say Burton had no or little influence over Nightmare. That argument will work with James and the Giant Peach. Not Nightmare. Give Selik his due but don't rob Burton of his.

Wow... Kudos. No disrespect to you but I was really expecting a smart-ass comeback (Burton seems to be experiencing a backlash after Alice). Yours is actually intelligent. So, while I understand your reasoning, I'll politely say that I still disagree with your conclusion about the feel of Nightmare. I've actually always thought that it did have that darker Burton tone. It just wasn't "in your face". That said, I think Nightmare is a truly beautiful and brilliant film and much of that credit is due to Selik.

What you said about directors is definitely true. It is their film. I do get that. For some reason, the two mentioned by the the OP and yourself, FDTD and Nightmare, are two on which I seem to have a mental short circuit.

If you write a film it is still YOUR film. Just like True Romance is still part of Tarantino's catalogue.

For me, Vanessa's scene isn't even in the same league with Salma's.

I have not seen From Dusk Till Dawn, but I already know the answer is Salma Hayek, because that woman is a Goddess! Ferlito's nose creeps me the *beep* out.

That scene in Death Proof can't even compare to Salma Hayek's scene!

reply

Are you kidding? Of course Hayek. Ferlito was disgusting, with her nasty cellulite legs and lips.

Disgusting? Wow that's harsh. She's definitely has an acquired taste sort of look but she looked beautiful in the back of the car dancing. And by back of the car I DO NOT mean while her face was turning into a drag strip.

Salma, by leaps and bounds. As it has been said many times in this thread: the scene in DP simply doesn't even compare. Salma is one of the sexiest and most beautiful women on the entire planet that has ever or will ever live, and the scene in FDTD was made at the utterly highest point in Salma's hotness (the early 90s). This film and Desperado showcase the gorgeousness that is the Hayek.

Salma Hayek is hotter, but Vanessa's dance was sexier.

Once you go Hayek you'll never go Bayek.

Quentin is the one of the luckiest men ever in the "Santanico Pandemonium"scene with Salma.

Both scenes are hot. Salma's is very classy/sexxy, while Vanessa's is grungy/nasty/sexy. Two very different scenes eliciting the same reactions. Both can get me turned on. Just depends what kind of seduction I'm in the mood for at the time.

reply

I liked Salmas scene more because it was more sensual.

QT and his goddamn foot fetish hurts the Dusk to Dawn dance even though Salma Hayek is one of the sexiest women ever. I seem to remember her doing a dance in Dogma which wasn't too damn bad either, but haven't seen that movie in years.
