Just rewatched this for the first time since seeing it in theaters

Huge Tarantino fan but recalled not loving this one in theaters when seeing it as part of the Grindhouse double feature. This time I watched the extended version and actually thought it was quite good. I don't think the extended-ness really was the reason for liking it, especially since I felt it might have been even better if about ten mins or so of dialogue had been cut but anyway, just sayin I thought it was a really enjoyable flick and hadn't seen it in the nine years since it came out: )

I LOVE this film. It breaks my heart that QT calls it his worst film. There is too much too love about this film. I love Russell's performance, love the Stuntman Mike character, love the car chases...most of all...LOVE THE CARS! I own a challenger myself and I get excited for this film. It's definitely a niche film, I get that. To call it bad though? Hardly.

I have a soft spot for Slasher films & I really like Tarantino films so this movie was definitely up my alley. It may be too talky, and too slow for some people but I really loved this experience. I actually prefer it to Planet Terror.

This is a great movie, Jackie Brown is Tarantino's worst. If I was a teenager when this came out I probably would've tried to play ships mast with my friends. Lol

Are you saying that Jackie Brown is bad or just that it's just the least good of his movies?

I think Inglorious Basterds is easily his worst. Felt like a waste of time watching it.

I thought it fantastic.
The opening scene with Christoph Waltz and the French dairy farmer is possibly Tarantino’s best directed scene.
Waltz was amazing throughout and absolutely deserved the Oscar he won for the performance.

I agree fully on the opening, it's extremely well done. I just don't think the rest of the movie lived up to that standard.

Another one that I feel similarly on was Django Unchained, which I thought was great until Waltz's character died, and then it was like the movie suddenly turned into a parody of itself.

For myself, when I say "Jackie Brown is Tarantino's worst" I mean "it's just the least good of his movies." I like Jackie Brown, and I like it a little more every time I watch it (I've probably seen it 6 or 7 times by now) but I don't like it more or even as much as any of his other movies. It doesn't even come close.

Well, except for Death Proof. Frankly between the two of them I think it's pretty much a toss up for Tarantino's Worst Movie. Thing is, I don't even think of Death Proof as being in the same bin as his other movies. I've always thought of it as a side project he did just because of his friendship with Rodriguez.

The black/white car chase at the end is arguably one of the top 5 car chases ever put on film.

I find The French Connection's chase way overrated, and Bullitt's a bit overrated.

I prefer the chase scenes in movies like The Blues Brothers and Ronin. It's hard to rate the chases in the Fast & Furious series because it's too hard to tell where the real stunt driving stops and the fakery starts.

But Death Proof's ending chase is original and amazing. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of QT, but even if this is his worst movie, it still has at least this chase to recommend it.
