Is the theatrical cut, better?
I have only seen the DVD extended cut, and I didn't like the movie. A large part of it is because I feel there is way too much exposition, about the women and their love lives, where they go into it a lot, but since you no they are just potential victims of Mike, you don't really care.
You could argue that by exploring the women's private lives so much, that it makes us care about them more. However, I felt their private lives were very light, shallow and low key, and didn't really give us much to care about.
So basically I felt there was too much character exposition. Now when I saw that, I am not one of those viewers who needs action and explosions to be entertained, far from it. I just want deeper characters. I mean imagine if in a movie like say... Jaws for example, all the characters talk about, is their sex lives all the time, and just complain and wine and wine, like these characters do. And the striptease scene is kind of sex sure, but it goes on for way too long, and doesn't really add anything to the story.
So basically I just felt there was too much exposition. But I hear that the theatrical cut is shorter, and I wonder, if maybe that one is better cause it would cut down on the exposition. Does it?
