And role of the Canadian officials and Government was seriously under-represented.

A 747 has to be moving at around 200 mph at liftoff. I doubt the Iranian police or a truckload of them could keep up, or drive right behind the aircraft at that point. The rest of the alterations of history could have fooled me.

You seriously weren't expecting a true historical story from a Hollywood production were you? Even Ben Affleck said it was only based on the original story to allow him to provide a dramatic entertainment, something that many of the whingers on these threads fail to understand. 🐭

The academy loved it just because it made Hollywood look responsible for the rescue. Very overrated film.
