Why is this not getting a Theatrical Release instead of going straight to MAX??

October at the movie theatre is generally pretty profitable, depending on if the movie is good or not, but it doesn't seem like much is coming out for Halloween, so why not release SALEMS LOT in theatres instead of straight to streaming which makes it look like it'll suck?? I'm all for seeing movies at the theatre, but if the straight to streaming continues, eventually we'll see movie theatres disappear unless it's an event type of movie which is Rare now??

My guess is they realized it's a bomb like the majority of post-'80s King adaptions.

It is interesting how the Best King movie are the one's up to 1983 and after that, it's hit or miss

It's the same with his novels, although I extend the date to '86 with those. After that, I think he no longer worried as much about quality storytelling as his fame ensured he could sell anything at all that he wrote.

I still can't believe they're not releasing this in theatres for October when it's receiving good reviews and October seems pretty empty at the movie theatre?? I'm sorry but I'm probably the only one simply not down with Streaming as opposed to seeing a movie at the theatre and I blame Covid for all of this bullshit

I'm watching it now. It isn't very good. It looks and feels like a tv movie, so they made the right move not giving it a theatrical release.

That's too bad, so I guess I simply stick with the 1979 movie version I have on Blu Ray which is the Best
