I have zero faith in this film being good.

Gary Dauberman's work as a director and writer has been extremely lackluster - the 'Annabelle' films, 'The Nun' and 'IT Chapter Two' were all underwhelming, if lucrative ('IT Chapter One' was okay, but he was only co-screenwriter, alongside Chase Palmer and Cary Fukunaga).

'Salem's Lot' is ripe for a fresh adaptation, but it's disappointing that Dauberman is the guy who got the job.

It will be nothing but a jump-scare CGI fest. No matter who makes it.

The only positive thing I can say about it though is that the sets are fantastic!!!!

Everything Dauberman has been attached to seems to rely heavily on jump-scares and booming noises. I'm hoping that they at least dial the CGI back from 'IT Chapter Two' levels. That was awful.

I haven't seen the sets! Do you have a link?

You're right, someone who's seen the preview said there are an excessive amount of jump scares. But the movie as a whole, is pretty scary.

My fear is that this film will spend more effort on being 'woke', than they will in telling the story.

I always laugh every time I read how they're trying to keep the movie as close to the book as possible and yet the very first thing they do is change the race and gender of Dr Cody and change the race of Mark Petrie and his family.

They're getting paid to be woke.

I anticipate this being the greatest vampire movie ever, eclipsing the classic House of Dracula from 1945

I have zero faith that this movie will ever be released.

The novel Salem's Lot has already saw a motion picture adaptation, unlike Insomnia, one of King's most underrated stories, a psychedelic horror nightmare.
