Yeah I don't think she kids herself whereas many people who date say they want one thing and then sabotage their chances through desperation.
I don't know why marriage is the ultimate goal - unless of course someone wants a family. I thought it was finding a soulmate, a healthy relationship.
As long as Patty is in a happy relationship, why does she need to be married? She would probably need a pre-nup and it could get messy if it didn't work out. A piece of paper won't keep someone faithful or committed to you.
Yeah it seems for them the promise ring is a declaration of their love and commitment but they don't want a marriage. Marriage is not necessary, it's a decaying and rotted institution.
