so disappointing...

I am watching the series now, and try as I might, I just can't get into it. I feel like all the actors are wrong for their roles (including Ethan Hawke - he is just not creepy enough). That short stocky man looks ridiculous in a cape. The girl (Layla) has zero screen presence.

I posted previously that Oliver Jackson-Cohen should have been cast instead - now I see that he actually would have been totally spot-on!

* handsome - check
* tall - check
* actual genuine London accent - check
* actually bilingual IRL and speaks French! - check
* plays a nebbish really well
* plays a dark or action character really well, too!

But besides that, I can't shake the feeling that the series is cheaply made, that they shot many scenes in a room - that kind of thing.

I am not sure I'll keep watching, I had to really force myself to get through ep 3, and I feel like instead of getting more intriguing with each passing episode this show only gets worse.
