Never Back Down 2 - My plot.

ok so ive thought about this for a while and have talked about it to mates and they think its great, so here it is:

At the end of the 1st film, see see that Jean Roqua closes down the gym, but in the 2nd film, Jake opens it up and runs it. so life is going well, he's still with baha, doing well at school, and more toned and muscly then ever! but things are about to change for the worse. Jake receives a phone call while at the gym.his mother has died in a car crash, hes livid and very upset as you can imagine, things start racing through his head, especially the thought of his dads accident from where he died. but the worst thing is telling his younger brother Charlie. Now Charlie, has grown up and matured and turning into a really big tennis superstar. but when jake tells Charlie the news, everything changes. you see jake can handle it, since going to the gym and fighting in the beat down and taking all the crap from his fathers death, he can control his anger and keeps his discipline, but this is not the same as Charlie, infact totally the opposite. Charlie gives up tennis and goes on a mad one; fighting in school, gets caught stealing and then suspended from school. so Jakes decides to take on the persona and rolemodel of a strong father character, by bringing charlie to the gym and showing charlie how to control his emotions and his anger. so when Charlie begins to like his training more and more, he tells Jake that he wants to the beatdown, now jake isnt happy with this and at first says no. Jake goes home and has a terrible nights sleep with lots of racey dreams with the crashes of his mother and father, and then one man appears in his head. jean Roqua.with the words " you control the outcome". this is when jake decides he will let Charlie fight in the beat down, so he trains and trains him untill he is ready. Charlie then goes onto the beatdown, where he gets to the final, but ill leave it on a cliffhanger, too see if he wins or loses!

That tall drink of water with the silver spoon up his ass.

I know this is just an idea but there a few problems with it. So here's some pointers.

One. Why Charlie? Charlie was a supporting role in the first movie so he shouldn't be amped up to a main role. Besides I can't see Charlie as a fighter, even if this is a few years later and he's been recast, he was more of a joker than a fighter.

Two. If you're gonna kill the mother make her death something to do with the bad guy. Maybe he kills her as part of a gang initiation and Jake wants revenge.

Three. Lose Baja and Max but maybe give them a cameo or two. Roqua, Charlie and Ryan should still be in it. Make Ryan a friendly rival/sparring partner to Jake. Also add a new love interest for Jake.

Four. Bad guy has gotta be worser than Ryan. Make the bad guy a bigger dick than Ryan was. He could be the person who hurts the mother and this causes Jake to want revenge on him. Roqua and Ryan take Jake and Charlie to Brazil where Jake trains with Roqua's old friends and Charlie is there for moral support.

Five. The finale has to be better than the one in the first. After defeating the bad guy Jake begins walking back over to Charlie but the bad guy shoots Jake killing him. This mirrors the first movie where Roqua explains to Jake what happened to his brother.

Six. Roqua adopts Charlie for Jake. After the credits a scene set a few years later shows an older Charlie played by Sean Faris is stepping into the beatdown.

If a third movie gets made then it can show Charlie training to be a fighter like his brother and it can end with Charlie defeating the guy who killed Jake at the beatdown.

LOL

Why is he still in school? Does he keep failing or something?
And how is he even qualified to run that gym? He only trained for a few months.

The main problem is that there doesn't appear to be any source of tension or conflict in this movie.

The mom dies so Charlie enters the beatdown?
That's beyond paper thin, where is the tension and conflict?
You need an enemy, an opposing force, like Ryan in the first one.

reply

No, ok well he could have left school now, but why does he need an opponent? He's angry and he just wants to fight and take it out on others!

Jake, no matter what happens, control the outcome. It's on you.

Nobody wants to watch Charlie fight, it would be like the new Karate Kid.
