Great film - but I don't get the Baja character

Watched this film a number of times now and really like it. Certainly makes you train harder if watched while working out! Has a little bit of everything and is surprisingly well acted.

The only thing I've never really got is the Baja character. Her sudden change from flirty, seductive, care-free girl to the introspective girl who shows all her insecurities to Jake (ie the scene where she apologises) just doesn't sit right with me.

A few questions I'd asked:

How on earth would she be with Ryan in the first place if she feels this way about fighting? Would be interesting to see a couple more scenes of her and Ryan together becuase I can't imagine how they'd even talk to each other about anything they have so little in common. Also, surely she knew that Ryan was planning to beat Jake up when she invited him to the party. The first time she saw Jake you could see that she liked him and thought he was different/interesting etc so I don't understand why she would basically plot to get him beat up. Which is what she did in my eyes becasue she knew what Ryan was planning deep down.

Interesting but flawed character. I wish she had been developed more in the script and, like I say, there had a been a few more scenes showing her and Ryan togther.

She was with Ryan for popularity, nothing more.

ryan actually seemed like a fun guy to be around. Apart from his ridiculously high self esteem and need too prove himself to others.

...and his psychopathic tendencies to beat up people and leave them lying half dead in front of their friend's house.

the dude had a killer six pack and was rich, why else would she be with him, a large majority of women are like that.
