Oh,please. The KARATE KID remake was really good. So what if Will Smith's son was in it? He did a pretty good job considering it was his lead leading role, and it was a damn good movie. That's why it was a huge box office hit worldwide, unlike this NDB flick.
Sure, if you're one of those people who think Karate and Kung Fu are one-in-the-same and believe the MISLEADING title of the re-make. If a white person did the re-make, they would be called racist or ignorant.
If it was so damn good, why hasn't there been a follow up? (For what it's worth, I thought the KK remake was done real well. The ignorant title turned it off for me and it was too predicting as Smith pretty much copied the original almost verbatim but with a new setting.)
