Reminds me of Alain de Botton's "Essays in Love"...
I really liked this film, even if it left me with some sadness with the way it ended... Maybe this way the story was more true to life but maybe that's also why it made me feel sad... Anyway, while many details differed, the overall execution of the story as a kind of documentary of a love story from it's beginning till its end, with a "backstage" commentary, made me think of one of my favourite books ever - 'Essays in Love" by Alain de Botton. I wasn't able to find any official info on whether the authors got any inspiration from that book, but I couldn't help noticing the main character reading a different book by this author in the movie: "The architecture of happiness". I don't think this is a coincidence... Anyone else noticed this and thinks the book and the movie have a lot in common?
Also, I think both the book and the movie belong to the category of ones that you go back to for re-reading/re-watching when in the right mood. The book lets the reader find identification when in love/heartbroken/lonely etc. and so does the movie...
