"I say we're a couple."

What is the general opinion of Tom's reaction to being a FWB in Summer's mind??

He says, "You're not the only one who gets a say in this and I say, we're a couple goddamn it!"

Personally, he is right. The amount of power women have over their autonomy and the way women use their power of access makes it IMPOSSIBLE for men today. Do these liberated feminists realize what it means to be intimate with another person? Or, is it they just don't want a man to be intimate with them? Being intimate means touching someone without asking for their permission. It means getting as close to that person as possible. It means loving and accepting another person, even when it's hard to. For the last 10 to 15 years, women have gotten closer and closer to each other. I feel like they've manipulated themselves into believing they're safer with another woman than they could ever be with men... even though, it's always been a man's natural job to protect his mate. We're not in the natural world anymore.

We don't have to worry about fighting off bears, lions, tigers or other men. BUT, modern society seems to like condemning men for those natural and sometimes very useful impulses of aggression. Being susceptible to this manipulation, women have convinced themselves that whenever a male says something or wants something, it's that evil, territorial aggression coming back to haunt them. From being scary and nasty as a little girl might see it, or rude as a Victorian woman might see it, we now have another name for it. Modern women look at this behavior as being oppressive and even abusive.

It sure as hell didn't bother them when we had to fight off threats, risking our very lives to save them and protect them while they were pregnant... before the telephone. The irony is that even cops have to show that territorial aggression to get the job done. By condemning men for their natural territorial aggression, it's really no different than the most patriarchy society condemning women for bleeding during their periods. It's part of our biology.

Do you ladies want to be that person??

As you will find of most people who like this move (or came to like this movie eventually), we like the fact that the theme has nothing to do with men and women; it's just about people. Sometimes we're the one that cares more, sometimes we're the one that cares less. The mess that can ensue isn't a commentary on gender as much as it is a commentary on individual emotion and resolve.

You sound very unstable. That's probably why you can't get "access" to women.

It's funny. All the women I date are very feminine, like the fact that I am assertive/dominant, and like a more traditional dynamic. But that's because I know the type of woman I'm attracted to, and don't settle.

I find that people today would rather complain in secret and settle in their life, instead of taking action. If you've been meeting overly progressive feminists OP, you're the one choosing those women. Now I want to stress that I like independence in a woman and a strong feisty personality. No one likes a push over. But ultimately, a woman that appreciates a guy that acts like one is most attractive. If I wanted to date another man, I wouldn't be attracted to women. LOL

not all women like Summer are "overly aggressive feminists".

Women are people with different types of personalities. Being independent, brash, bold, courageous etc., does not necessarily make a woman an "aggressive feminist". You are ridiculously sexist. If you want a woman who is consistently meek and mousy, then go for it and stop complaining about "aggressive" women

Supreme gentlemen like yourself sure have it hard these days.
