i liked the movie until the end.

I pretty much hold disbelief in all movies, as they are priority number 1, just entertainment. Sometimes things stick out that can irk you and the end irked me here.

I get it, in movies the best way to captivate people is using attractive actors/actresses. It's always been like that.

I'm a guy and did like the movie and apparently the ladies find Joseph attractive. Zooey is very cute and nice. So of course it makes the story easier to take in this way.

I just found it ridiculous how he is going through the trials and tribulations towards the end of the movie and BAM, it just so happens he gets a date with a gorgeous woman like Minka Kelly. This took out all the realism of the movie to me. Not this can't happen but this just stuck out as laughable to me.

Some won't find Minka that attractive, but in my opinion it would have worked better if they just had another cute girl at the end. Like I am suppose have any empathy towards Joseph's character that he got a date with Minka's character.

Whoah is me!

I know what you're saying, and I think I may have thought the same thing upon first viewing. And perhaps the way someone feels after the first viewing is how they essentially think of a scene/film.

But upon subsequent viewings, I thought it was a good way to end the film. It was fun in a sense. Sure, maybe the better way would have been for Autumn to maintain her rejection of Tom, but maybe the idea of him having to learn his lesson one more time is a more fascinating way to conclude the piece (of course, that's the pessimistic view).

Well in real life, personality plays a big factor into things too. Autumn clearly found Tom funny and he seemed like a nice guy. All she's agreeing to is coffee. If they hit it off, great. If he turns out to be a creep then it's goodbye. Also attractiveness is subjective. Tom might not be attractive to you, but he might be to Autumn.
