I just noted something about the Ringo record scene...

When the film starts, Tom is like: "I don't know what happened, everything was going great", and he actually remembers a moment when he shows Summer a Ringo record and she smiles. However, when the film is about to end, we see the whole scene and realize that it was just a polite smile, and Summer actually changed her expression into angst quite fast.

I don't know, I haven't noticed this before and just thought of sharing it here.

Yes--I noticed that, too. I interpreted those two showings of the same scene to show us viewers that Tom was remembering things differently from how they actually were.

The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts.
