Good movie
The Captain is basically a three part movie. First we meet the crew members as they get ready for their flight and all the pre-checks. It may seem mundane, but it introduces us to the characters, and gives a peek behind-the-scenes at the things passengers take for granted.
Up next is the incident, which sets the audience up for a 45 minute white knuckle ride. You’d expect this section of the movie to be exciting, and it is. The special effects are excellent, and really add to the believability.
The final section is a protracted denouement, and it’s very moving. Seeing how the passengers (and spouses/loved ones) responded is powerful. As the credits roll we see the real Captain and crew, plus pictures of the plane.
The Captain is a well-made movie. It’s probably similar to something we’ve all seen before, but knowing this is based on a true story adds gravitas.
