Annoying Accents..uggh

I could barely understand what they were saying, they should have left when the kids first showed up but no they stayed..and they brought no weapons with them, a gun would have solved everything..

Yeah can't carry a gun to kill someone quickly but you can carry a knife and torture people lol

reply

I couldn't understand either half the time, I guess this is one of those films you have to be a native to understand lol. I have a hard time watching the British office too because of the accents

reply

Dear Fruitbatt: When I watch any British film, especially set in Scotland, Ireland or Wales, I always use the caption setting. Actually, I have used it for American films. I could have not understood most of the dialogue in the series "Wire," which takes place in Baltimore and concentrates on the poor black neighbourhoods. Can you imagine that what sounds like "ayt" is actually supposed to be "all right?"

reply

Yeah I didn't have that option tho

reply

I thought it was unrealistic that the dude didn't carry a knife with him at least in his car or something . Most people that go camping in the woods carry one

reply

Our accents have been around for centuries. Making this the basis of why you dislike the film is shameful. Show more respect in future you deluded yanks.

reply

OP, this is the UK, no guns allowed by law. Should be the same in the U.S. And churchgoers wouldnt be.shot by some wacko.

reply

Yet you're saying "yanks" makes you as bad as the op.

reply

The English hate their language and will not teach it to their children.

We resist any kind of standard accent as 'posh' or 'elitist' and take huge pride in regional dialects even when they are unintelligible to people just 50 miles away. Our accents and language have changed massively over the centuries. Most of us don't even understand Shakespeare.

I'm not surprised foreigners have a hard time learning English from the source when we don't even teach it to ourselves.

Are you related to that girl in the viral video about speaking Americanish?

reply

I have no idea what you are referring to or why it's relevant. Perhaps you would care to enlighten me?

She's a young YouTube comedian, and idiots think she's for real. I'm sure if you search "americanish" you can find it. It's pretty funny.
