I finally watched this today because I had to make sure I was in the right frame of mind to do so, and it was much deeper and had much more to it than I thought it would.
I was feeling disappointed a bit near the end, but was satisfied.
Just saw this today after seeing the trailer. It seemed like it would go against the grain of most movie tropes. It was a much more thought provoking movie than I expected going in. To be honest I was going in expecting to seeing an edgy, dark revenge flick but was surprised by the message overall. It was well done and while the ending was disappointing I think it was meant to send a message which I think most minorities can relate to.
I would still be interested in seeing a more revenge oriented justice flick, something like Law Abiding Citizen, but I don't think anyone has the balls to make that film.
That is exactly what I was expecting, a revenge flick. I was surprised it was so much more than that. I thought it was really, really well done.
