War Propaganda??? I thought it was just the opposite.

I don’t understand the people who say this film was war propaganda. I thought it was just the opposite, anti war propaganda.

At no point do was see the enemy vilified, as a matter of fact we don’t see the enemy at all.

At no point do was see Bush or anyone else calling us to arms.

At no point do we see American soldiers victorious over the evil bad guys.

At no point do was see the slaughter of innocents.

All we see this the pain and suffering of family members and friends of the fallen and people say that that is a glorification of war? I just don’t get it. I thought this was an anti war movie, a movie the illustrates the futility of war and not its glory.

Well, those who call it propaganda either dislike the US or think that any "war" movie that doesn't paint the US as evil is propaganda. Frankly, these people misuse the term propaganda to suit their own views.

I'm not an actor. I just play one on TV.

You spoke the truth well and this movie represented on how well a brave man or woman is well taken care of before they go home to lay to rest. I loved the movie and I teared up in some scenes during the movie. I am not going to lie about it either.

I don't think you meant that as it comes across. I do not think you feel it was anti-war propaganda, especially after the several supporting points you made, as those points do not shout out against the war.

I feel the film was not propaganda at all, on neither side. It was just a story portraying something that actually happened. A rare glimpse into a real life story we all hope we never have to take part in personally.
