I get the feeling that a lot of people are missing the point on this one.

The point isn't that "messing with Mother Nature is bad", but that it's Human Nature that messes everything up. Frail, emotionally unstable humans are what become the problem.

Yep. It wasn't science that created a monster ... it was the abuse of Elsa (abused by her own mother) and the weakness and passivity of Clive.
