I believe Joan Jett is simply the coolest and most outstanding K-Stew character so far, much better than her character in Twilight and other movies she has done.
Part of the reason is because rock chicks are the minority in the pop-tart infested music world, and also because Kristen played her role convincingly as Joan.

Coming from a person who's known about KS since waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy before Twilight, I'm glad she did this movie because I actually loved her playing Joan Jett, and it seemed to empower her and Dakota Fanning to a certain extent. Hell, if I had Joan Jett and Floria Sigismondi, two fab and talented strong women rooting for me in the roles, I would be empowered too (and I'm decades older than these lil girls).
I just cannot stand the whole Twilight phenomenon. The Bella Swan character and the series in general is just too vanilla and cheesy for me. I'm a grown woman for christ's sake and with my life experience, this series and these characters just don't speak to me personally (and I love vamps, and fantasy in general).
So I will be interested to see what KS does with the Snow White character she's playing next. Also, what the heck is Floria doing these days? I don't see any upcoming projects. I didn't think The Runaways was a flop, though the reviews were pretty mixed.
