Totally agree, this movie made me a fan of Kristen Stewart I didn't know she could act so well after the Twilight movies. Anyway, I wish the movie had been about Joan Jett but it was supposed to be based off of Cherie Currie's book. I felt that Dakota's performance was good, but not great. I think that they should have cast someone a little different, maybe with a harder edge and that pains me to say because I really like Dakota.

Yes it was based off Currie's autobiography. However Jett and Currie both had input into the movie while it was filmed.
You forget there were other members of the band, Lita Ford, Sandy West and of course Jackie Fox/Michael(Micki) Steel/ Vicki Blue (Which in the movie is the fictional character Robyn Robins made up with the likes of Jackie/Michael/Vicki).
The Runaways was a big part of Cherie Currie and Joan Jetts lives. They lived out the rest of their teen years being this hardrock teen girls that were being taken advantage of.
There wasn't much about Lita in the movie because Lita didn't want any part of it. Which also included Jackie Fox (who was with the band during their Japan/European tour) who openly said she too didn't want to have any input into the movie as she had closed that chapter in her life. (I'm not sure what Vicki Blue or Michael Steele had any say).
Of course there was no say what so ever but I'm sure if she was alive Sandy West would have been thrilled to have done something for the movie as well. As Sandy until the end of her days loved that band so much. It was her life even when she got older she held out hope to do a reunion tour (which can be seen in Edgeplay) of course that would never be.
Which can be explained why out of the three other characters that Sandy has more scenes and lines then Lita or Robyn.
