Joan Jett's coming out movie?

Was this movie a veiled attempt for Joan Jett to finally come out as gay? Did she publicly out herself in this movie? She is somewhat ambiguous about her sexually and I never hear of her with any guys, so did she finally admit she is gay? (p.s: I don't care if she is or isn't. I'm just asking. I am a big fan regardless.)

I don't think she intended this movie to be any sort of "coming out". Although she's never publicly stated one way or the other, she has said that if you look in the lyrics of her songs, the answer is there. She has sung songs about loving men and others about loving women. If anything, the movie just sort of confirmed what her lyrics have said. Personally, going from the lyrics, I think she's probably gay, but open to stuff with guys.

I think she is bisexual

Don't think so, a female rocker back then had to consider more options for fame, doing something that made fans go 'yeah!' 'hell yeah!' or the like was a career choice.

Coming out?
Not really.

The real Joan might have an interest in one gender over the other, or in both, but the film doesn't declare anything other than she supposedly had a relationship with a bandmate. Her Sinner album was probably the most direct in declaring an 'interest' i.e. S/M, but you'll simply have to read between the lines elsewhere in her song catalog to find out where her orientation lies.

Jett actually did puplically state she is bi sexual right around the time the movie was released but it really wasn't big news because it's been pretty well suspected for a long time. I've always thoight she was gay but according t o her she goes for guys too...
