Pretty good movie
I liked this, Keaton is great in this as usual. This is familiar stuff where the absent father who prioritized his work over family comes to realize and regret, tries to make amends etc.
The unique part in this that is different from the hundred other movies where I've seen this is: you can see this fault in him, but you just can not get yourself to dislike him. He is genuinely a good person and it's great to see a movie where someone with this particular shortcoming is not necessarily an asshole.
In all other movies, the guy who paid more attention to his work and neglected his kid is invariably a jerk that you somehow hate - and then he turns himself around. Here, this is a good man who just loved his career in the art world so much that his family suffered for it.
I like that fresh take.
