Amanda Seyfried is too cute, I don’t see her as Elizabeth Holmes. Bad casting

reply

She also makes Holmes too likable, but that might turn soon

That's ALWAYS the case; I can't think of a single "based on true story" character who's not more attractive than the original.

Maybe Nicole Wallace is close to Sarah Paulson's level (from "Game Change") but that's about it.

Besides, if you want to complain about "too cute to play the real McCoy," Amanda Seyfried may be incrementally better looking than Holmes, but try comparing Sunny Balwani to Naveen Andrews - hoe-lee sheet!!!

reply

Andrews did put on some weight and managed to make himself look kind of schlubby, at least.

I don't worry too much about the actors looking like the people they are playing. Seyfried has been pretty good in the part so far. If the performance is there, I can overlok that they only have a little bit of a resemblance.

I get so mad when Naveen Andrew gets on the screen. That man is just too fine and I can't not accept him as this character cause all I can see is Naveen not being fine. LOL.

But he IS being fire!

Everything I've seen & read suggests that Balwani was little more than a bully and a thug

Naveen plays him with a sinister charm that the real guy almost certainly lacks. What's more, Naveen has claimed that his version of Balwani is basically "Lady Macbeth."

So he's still playing a charismatic seducer. An obviously fake pot belly won't hide that.

She was not the first choice for the role.
The rest of the cast is quite good.
Sayid has a beer belly.
Also funny to see the A-hole from Die Hard.

reply

She's great in the role. That's all that matters.
