Were you dissapointed? (Major Spoilers)

First of all I'm not a Math whizz or braniac and Math is one of my worst subject and I hardly ever passed at it at all. So when I watch movies like this about puzzles and solving problems I will be like 'wow' at the end because of the answer. So the movie was very intriguing as I watched it and I was like wondering who was the mastermind behind all of this. And of course I don't like to think much and hope to be surprised so I didn't work out who was the one behind all of this. And in the end they reveal that Hilbert was the mastermind. And I was totally disappointed about that because I thought someone else than in the room did that to them and it was not as simple as sabotage. Furthermore, I think the reason Hilbert did all of this was kind of ridiculous. Really? He would really went through all this trouble to kill Galois? I know that it is just a movie and overall it's pretty exciting and suspenseful so I give it a 6.5. But I'm not as surprised about the ending in this movie as in 'Exam'. I totally had no idea what the question and answer is on 'Exam'. I recommend you guys go watch it. It's pretty similar too.

I do agree with the major plot being a bit weak in the context of the storyline. I too wanted a more "non-human" idea to drive the story, so the enigma is truly an enigma, not just human vanity.
The example of Exam you bring up is a good example of that, and the clear connection to Cube also gives a more over all question instead of just human feelings.

Some might find me morally challenged or morally ambigious. I prefer morally creative.

I was disappointed by the ending in Exam. It kinda reminded me of the series Lost, in that the idea seemed very interesting, but turned out to be really nothing worthwhile in the end. That was the question they were supposed to deduce and answer? I was hoping for at least something complex.

I also felt cheated in that there was nothing brain-teasing about it, the question was based on pure anal retentiveness.
