Pointless movie

During the auditions, we see Jenny and Neil who clearly have no talent, yet they get in. How and why?! Then we see that Jenny needs to loosen up more, but never gets to. Neil gets played by that guy who stole his money who he said would help him with his movie. And it's not like we saw he was a talented filmmaker anyways. He filmed Joy drunk as his short film! Yet at the end of the movie, they say they both learned a lot from the school? Uh, I don't think so!

I didn't think it was right for Ms. Kraft to tell Kevin that she doesn't believe he'll be able to support himself as a dancer. I get that she doesn't have to write him the recommendation, but she could have been sweeter to him about it. It's all subjective. He could have tried to get more training and try to live out his dream.

Marco breaks up with Jenny for getting sexually assaulted?! I get that she lied to him, but she tells him he took advantage of her and all he could say is I told you so?!

The only one that I thought got true character development was Denise in that it took her through high school to realize she's a superstar and stand up for what she wants.

But yeah, it was so hard to sympathize with these characters. It's a shame because this could have been a great modern remake if there was better writing, character development, and acting.
