Jenny + Marco Argument

Was anyone else a little disgusted that Jenny was practically sexually assaulted by Andy, and all Marco could do was get pissed that Jenny saw Andy behind his back? Yeah, she broke her promise to him, but as soon as he asked, "Did he try something on you?" I expected more than anger toward her when she responded in the affirmative.

It's not her fault he's threatened by Andy, and he needs a slap upside the head with the perspective stick if that's his only reaction. She's better off without him, I think.

reply

That didn't come close to a sexual assault. You must not date much.

reply

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know the definition of sexual assault had changed. Unwanted sexual advances = harassment/sexual assault/(date) rape.

Perhaps YOU don't date much.
Perhaps this is the reason.

reply

No! Unwanted sexual advances do not constitute harassment. By your logic, every guy who goes in for a kiss at the end of the evening to a woman who isn't interested would be classified as a sexual harasser or assaulter. That's ludicrous. What's the guy supposed to do, get written permission before he attempts to kiss a girl?

An unwanted kiss, which is all that happened in the movie, is just one of life's little annoyances. To call it anything else is extreme overreaction and belittles true sexual harassment and assault.

reply

Except it wasn't just an unwanted kiss. It was an unwanted kiss, followed by a no, followed by further advances. Are you familiar with, "No means no"?

reply

Yeah, I agree with the OP.
Yes he was right, but she just needed to find that out for herself. It's not like she would actually make out with him just to get the job.

reply

She might have, had it been a real audition...

"I totally saw his wolf junk"

reply

Hey a lot of actresses end up on the "casting couch" and agree to do sexual favours to get jobs. It usually doesn't work out that she gets the job but the casting agent got something out of it sadly.

reply

This part was done better in the original with the Coco character. This version kind of watered it down.

Just got secretly engaged to the best guy ever!!

reply

I agree. It could have gone really bad. But all Marco could say is I told you so and breaks up with her for almost getting sexually assaulted? Yes, it was wrong for Jenny to lie and go to the guy's trailer and to tell Marco she was fine with him flirting a little bit, but Marco could have been a little more sympathetic.
