Why does Braga hire drivers and then shoots them when he already has drivers that work for him. Did he explain it and I just missed it or something??

He kills the drivers after they do the drug transporting for him. The reason for this is so they do not report anything that Bragga does to the authorities.

This is why he recruits new drivers all the time to replace the previous ones.

yes but thats not the point..braga already had a ton of drivers available to him that were already in mexico.

hell, he could have just had pheonix do the transporting since he was the one leading the racers through the tunnel.

This was the thing that made no sense to me. After a few times word is going to get out that none of the drivers that go on Braga's runs come back. They're already keeping them in the dark about what it is they are carrying. Killing the driver's just means that later on nobody is going to go on the runs for you and then what are you left with?

Considering the 'test' was life threatening and incredibly dangerous, the basically hired exclusively lowlifes few would miss or ask too many questions about.

And more importantly they didn't really have a choice. They needed extremely skilled drivers to drive the drugs through the loophole in the border. Hiring sobs who only want money and don't care to run people over to get it, is a much better strategy than hiring nascar drivers.

It appears they only had ONE driver who knew the location of the tunnel and that was the lead villains right hand man.

In addition it was all a temporary situation, which only succeeded due to the tunnel remaining a secret, not only to the authorities but the other drug runners too. Can't keep something a secret if your constantly hiring guys to run drugs through it every month.
