Okay thanx man, I was just too confused because the makers of the Seris say that they used a '69 and '70 in both movies.
shareEric, Great question to ask in a forum filled with idiots who ask the dumbest questions over and over again. It’s a breath of fresh air for someone to ask a legitimate question.
shareI personally own and am currently rebuilding a '68 Charger. I say 'rebuild' rather than 'restore' because when I bought the car a lot of the original parts were long gone. Since a lot of the car was unoriginal (motor, tranny, etc.) I decided to build the car to the way I wanted it.
I was going to change the engine to a big block motor but I found an engine at a great price that I just couldn't pass up. It was a fully rebuilt 360 with a six pack set up and the guy even threw in a 727 tranny all for $2400! After taking the engine apart I also found out that the cylinder heads are original T/A high performance cylinder heads!
Anyway, the next step is the interior. I plan on redoing the seats, the dash, and the center console and after that it will be the body. The body is in great shape already as all the hard work was done when I purchased it but there are a few nuts and bolts that need to be done on it along with a rechroming of the bumpers.
Like you, the '68-'70 Chargers are my dream cars. Those, along with my '69 Road Runner, that is.... =)

The '68-'70 Dodge Chargers are my dream cars as well. Though I only dream of owning such a magnificent American muscle car. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get one yet. I'm a bit envious of you, but lots of respect too dude. By the way, what color is your Charger?
shareits supposed to be a 69 charger because thats the most sought after model but its probably a mix of different years cuz a real 69 charger is expensive....
shareYeah, sure, especially with the front bumper that is obviously from a 70 Charger. I'm sure a movie studio couldn't afford to get a 69 charger if that's what they really wanted or at least the front fenders, hood, bumper and grille from a 69.
shareThe main car was a 1970 Dodge Charger. I'm sure they used 1969 Dodge Chargers and converted them to look like a 1970, hence why they said they used both '69 and '70 Chargers.
shareLOL, this guy is so full of crap. Challenger T/A / 'Cuda AAR motors were 340s with a 6 Pack/6-Barrel setup, not 360s. The 360 was a dog that never even showed up under the hood of the Charger until '75 when the car was a POS based on the Chrysler Cordoba.
shareWhoever said it was a stock 360? It's true, I love my cars stock but as you can see from my previous post stock was definitely not an option in this case. Try reading before you say someone is full of crap next time.
