Why is Brian all over Dom's nuts?

Seriously, why does Brian worship this guy?

First Brian let's him go in the first movie, and now he's negotiating immunity deals, and risking everything by breaking him out of jail?

News flash, Dom isn't a good guy. He's a criminal. He makes his money by robbing other people. He deserves to be in prison. He's a criminal, not someone to be looked up to.

If it were me, I'd throw his ass in prison.

They got attached. I thought that was pretty obvious in the first movie. I do hear you partially though with the whole thief looking like the good guy thing. Though Dom and Co. aren't like drug dealers or anything.

reply

No, they're not drug dealers. They just go around stealing from people, and put lives in danger.

reply

Actually, they're as bad as drug dealers if not worse.

reply

Hey listen, like you I had a little bit of a problem with the whole "maybe you're really a bad guy pretending to be a good guy" thing Mia said to Brian. It rubbed me the wrong way a little.

But if you can't differentiate the difference between types of crimes, I don't know what to tell ya. Would I pseronally steal some of the stuff Dom and Co. do in this movie and the original? No. But you are kidding yourself if you can't even recognize their code of ethics. Thieves are still thieves, but they aren't murderers.

reply

They're not murderers? Look at the first scene of the first movie.

reply

They were trying to rob a truck from what I can remember.

reply

Didn't that truck driver fall out of the truck? If he didn't, it looked like it. But anyway, even though they didn't mention it in the films, they had to had killed someone pulling those high speed hijackings of those trucks.

Not that I can remember, but I would have to rewatch it.

They didn't "Had to had killed someone" at all.

reply

LMFAO! The driver didn't "fall out" of the truck, he made a decision to JUMP out. I think he would have done it either way seeing as there was a sharp turn on a cliff & he was going pretty fast without paying attention to the road signs.

reply

They are talking about the opening scene from the first movie.

reply

Newsflash people it's a movie. Real life criminals aren't half as nice.

I'm thinking they are being setup to become professional thieves, which is what they've been forced to become. (being on the run from the law)

Professional thief groups are no doubt often family and do have a stringent code of ethics. i presume part of it involves not killing people or putting peoples lives under needless risk.

reply

Dom is tough and stands up for the people he loves, is a good driver, is really cool, and he lives by a code that Brian admires.

reply

Why did Johnny Utah like Bodai even though he was the leader of the Ex Presidents (bank robbers)? Bodai was cool and an awesome surfer and a thrill seeker, and lived by a code that Utah admired.

Am I the only one that thinks TF&TF was a total ripoff of Point Break? Actually, in a second when I look through more posts here, I bet I'd find people talking about it. If not, prob on the first movie's board. TF&TF is pretty much Point Break with ricers instead of surfing. Brian even acts like Keanu's Johnny Utah somehow. It seems so familiar as if he actually studied Keanu in PB for his role.

All this being said, I liked FAF more than any other in the series. I actually enjoyed the second one too, but the first one seemed way too much like a movie I'd seen already.

reply

NEVER COMPARE DOM TO BODAI.

Bodai was a much better character. And he actually taught Johnny Utah stuff, like Skydiving.

However, when the time came for Utah to serve Bodai, he did. He chased that dude to another country.

And he didn't let him go at the end of the movie. Bodai surfed to his death, and Utah knew that was going to happen.

Brian on the other hand risks his job, and his freedom just to protect a criminal for no reason. He's Dom's bitch.

reply

Bodai was an actual murderer. He and his crew had no qualms killing while doing a job. Dom and his crew drew lines.

reply

I agree 100% with the OP. The one-sided "bromance" between Brian and Dominic was scrotum-shrinkingly annoying to watch. Brian was more than willing to risk his career, risk his relationship, risk his freedom and risk his life for some dude, friend or not, who NEVER gave any indication that he was willing to do the same.

reply

Yeah Brian sucks Dom's dick but Dom acts like he doesn't even like Brian at all.

reply

"but Dom acts like he doesn't even like Brian at all."

I admit there's not any scenes of them palling around really after Dom find's out Brian is a cop. So it really does seem to be a one way street. But Brian is really just trying to earn Dom's respect because he knows Dom doesn't trust him and he really genuinely likes Dom (and loves Mia)

Seems simple enough to me.

Yes I had that impression too. He was around him 24/7. He was worshipping him. If the cops knew about this he would have been out of the force in no time.

reply

I'm not surprised you scrotum gazers have missed the most critical ingredient to Dom and Seans relationship.

Dom's sister.

If Sean had locked up Dom it's bye bye to Dom's sister forever.

Sure Sean had respect for Dom, but his sister was always on the back of his mind. This is most obvious in this film, where he basically throws it all away for real, he did it for Dom's sister as much as for Dom.

reply

Who the hell is Sean and WHAT the hell is a "scrotum gazer"?

reply

I mean Brian, and someone overly fixated on the masculine/male.

reply

Lmfao, i was just thinking this myself.
