It wouldn't have hurt just to add a 4 at the end of the title? I'm a long time massive fan of this series so I know this is the 4th movie, but people who want to get into the series wouldn't they confuse this with the first movie? it has happened to me, I've seen friends who want to buy all the movies and they bought this one first thinking it was the first movie in the series and I've had to correct them saying no the first one is called ''The Fast and The Furious.''

Maybe, I'm nitpicking a little, but yeah honestly why couldn't they just add a 4 at the end of it?

It was known in some countries as "Fast and Furious 4", but I guess they wanted to parallel the first movie so much.

The Fast and the Furious - Los Angeles. Brian, LAPD, goes undercover as a street racer.

Fast & Furious (dropped the "the" and changed "and" to &) - Los Angeles. Brian, FBI, goes undercover (briefly) as a street racer.

This series has a weird title scheme. The only other series that might be more confusing are the Rambo movies.

The title to this has always bothered me. I even took the insert out of my case and drew a 4 in front of "Fast & Furious" with a sharpie because it bothered me so much. Looking back on it I'm gonna assume it's because the future of the series looked bleak and this was almost a straight to DVD movie. So it was meant as sort of just getting its name back out there and resurrecting the series. At least they went back to putting numbers at the end of each one after this. I just hate when they don't because people new to the series won't know. I think they started putting numbers on the front and the side now though in recent shipments so no biggie. They even started putting "The Original" on the front of the first. It does annoy me that there isn't a single consistent title throughout the series.

Fast & Furious

Furious 7

What a mess. Rambo is even worse, let's look.

Like, what?! Not a single consistent title here either. It would've killed them to put a IV at the end? They also screwed up Rocky by calling the sixth Rocky Balboa. Real shame.

Thanks for that list. I think I have now seen all the movies except the last one but I watched them all out of order. I was very confused by the Fast & Furious title when I saw it in my TV schedule lineup and thought at first I had already seen it but I then realized I had watched the first movie The Fast and the Furious.

Not sure what they were thinking because for casual viewers like myself who don't get into the fanatical following like some viewers it can be very confusing as to which movie to watch first.

It's almost like they tried to subconsciously reboot the original after 2 & 3 were so off the map by the time 4 came around -
