Great fun, strong pace and not a dull moment..Cruise rocked.

Saw it again the other day, and I must say I enjoy it very much. Great fun, strong pace and not a dull moment. (has a vibe to how the good old spy movies were made back in the day)

Did okay on the box office. in fact listed as number 5 over best performing Spy-Comedies of all time. Performed better than even the first Austin Powers.

And Tom Cruise is great in his slightly off comedic performance. Great timing. In my opinion he delivers fully with that undefinable edge only few masters. E.g. look at him in the train when he realize June is no longer in the cabin - great underplayed moment. I believe this is his first comedy (not counting his cameo in Tropic Thunder) and he passes with flying colours.

I still can't believe how well he nailed the humor.

I actually saw it recently for the 3rd time and enjoyed it more than the first two. I think the first time I saw it, I was expecting more of his Mission Impossible seriousness. The movie is meant to be over the top. People are complaining about the action scenes. They should check out the extras on blueray. A lot of planning and effort went into those scenes. And Tom Cruise does his own stunts - very impressive - no cheating cutaways. It's him all him. Great little film. Did well overseas, where apparently audiences don't whine every time a movie doesn't fill every one of their expectations.

It's fun, and Cruise's looks and charisma really carry it.

It's an OTT comedy, and as long as it's seen in that light, it works. Bitching about the film is a waste of time. It's not a film intended to bear scrutiny, nor would it stand up on those terms.
