Unbelievably Naive about the Cocaine

Tom has used it for years. Research it.

Someone said--If he does drugs, how could he possible pull off his demanding production schedule and long hours?

And I'm thinking to myself, these people don't have a clue. How do you think MOST actors in Hollywood pull it off? How do you think they sign autographs for hours and eat all the rich food they're constantly given, and stay thin? How do you think they deal with jet lag and interviews when they're having anxiety?

There are NO HOLLYWOOD PARTIES that don't have cocaine present. It is virtually EVERYWHERE in the Hollywood culture.

It's a recreation aid, but moreso, a WORK AID. Not saying it's right, but I am saying it's a fact.

Do you really think with Tom's level of immersion in Hollywood for his entire life, that he hasn't picked up a habit?

LOOK AT HIM AGAIN ON OPRAH'S COUCH. THAT IS DRUGS.

And even good old L. Ron Hubbard liked recreation drugs, as evidenced by the fact that HE USED THEM.

1: get paid million of dollars
2: pay thousand of dollar for personal trainer and personal cook
3: get paid more millions of dollars

Maybe your right, or maybe he stays healthy and drinks green tea. Green tea actually gives abundant energy. I think you could be assuming too much here. No doubt Hollywood is saturated with it. But pegging Tom or anyone specifically without proof is kinda ignorant. I agree that its easy to imagine its the truth. Trying to keep energy up can be hard but its not impossible to do it without drugs. He is in shape here too and that in itself means he is dieting, eating right, and exercising. That speeds up the metabolism also.

Anyway I see your point but maybe give a little breathing room instead of definitive assumptions.

Well, you know how it is. When some people have achieved nothing much in their own lives and are envious of what others have, the only thing they can do is try and knock the successful people down with rumours and innuendo.

You gotta be trolling..

And if you ain't:

Like other people said before me, Tom Cruise is in good shape, and being in good shape will give you a lot more energy compared to a couch potato sitting home watching movies, and bashing celebrities online.

Try lifting your fatass and exercise, maybe you'll see the difference.

If you haven't noticed, most people in hollywood are in good shape.
Why?
Because they are working in a business where their physical appearance can mean the difference between getting a role or not.

Being in shape also usually means that they eat healthy, which will also make a big difference in your energy levels, and in how you feel.
Seriously, YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.

And being rich doesn't necessarily mean that you do drugs and eat unhealthy.
Eating healthy usually costs more than eating unhealthy (you know that a good cook can make a delicious meal which is also tasty?), and you don't have to do cocaine or other drugs to get your head *beep* up.
You can go get some paint thinner and inhale that, and it's dirty cheap.

Whether or not people do drugs doesn't have anything to do with how much money they have.
Same goes with alcoholism, people tend to think only poor people can be alchoholists..
Being a rich alcoholic just means you got that pricier whisky in your liqour cabinet

Sure there are people who do cocaine in Hollywood, of course!
As a matter of fact, in any group of people, be it rich or poor, there is a certain percent of people who will always get wasted.
It seems to be a basic human need.

I'm not defending Tom Cruise, he could very well be doing cocaine, like any other actor/actress could be.

What I'm saying is.. It's stupid to point fingers at anyone, especially with such uneducated facts you are presenting here.

Peace.

Well, you know what they say.. A bullet always tells the truth.

I'm with the other responses. I think it's irresponsible to post something like this. Calling someone a fat ugly cow or a lethargic loser of an actor is one thing. Spouting off about cocaine use is another. It's slanderous. And look, I'm not a Cruise fan. In fact, until very recently, he has always gotten under my skin. I don't like his movies (Vanilla Sky excluded) and I don't like how he acts - what comes off to me as - condescending. BUT, I can acknowledge that he must have had something going for him to reach the level of success he has. I also don't think you can live a hard, fast life depending on cocaine and still look as good as he does.

I am sure cocaine use is rampant in Hollywood. I'm sure many, if not most, have tried it or dabbled in it. That doesn't mean every successful actor relies on it. They may try it but as a regular life style aid, no. Many of them, and I would put Tom in this category, are very health conscious and appear intelligent enough to realize that continued and regular drug use, of any kind, is going to have an effect on your appearance and, ultimately, your ability to funciton. You may be able to get away with it for a few years but Tom's been around for decades. I sincerely don't believe you can function successfully for that long without some consequences. It always ends up spiralling.

I'll also add that while celebrities sometimes work periods of long, hard days many of us in the real world get up at six and don't stop running for 16 hours. We do it year round, year after year. I don't have to rely on my looks for my career but I would still never take that route. I'll stick to my quad latte, running five days a week, vitamins, and a balanced vegetarian diet, thanks. You'll never convince me that being famous makes people think any differently.

Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

I'm not going to name names but the OP is right. Cocaine is rampant in Hollywood and I can't really say anything more on that subject without implicating anyone on how I know. HOWEVER, Tom Cruise has never struck me as one of them. Ever.

I am not a Tom Cruise fan, in fact, Knight and Day is the only movie of his that I've enjoyed and own. He does nothing for me, I'm a Brad Pitt kinda gal .

I don't know TC personally, so I have no idea what his personal habits are. IF he did cocaine, he would try very hard to hide it from the public. However, I don't think it's fair to say that someone does drugs JUST because they have a lot of energy. Some people just happen to be type A and just go, go, go all the time and are happy that way.

I'll say this again. Maybe he does use and maybe he doesn't. You can't tell just by one behavior when you don't know him.

To each their own...opinion

Hey AgentSP, I actually work in Hollywood. When you're on the set, there is NO cocaine. Maybe in some star's trailer, but if so it's FAR from common.

I've been on movie sets for nearly 25 years now, and you don't see it being used, and you hardly see anyone that looks like they're using. People who worked on movies in the '70s and '80s said it was around more then. I can tell you it's pretty much NOT in the work environment and hasn't been for a long time. Try again.

To support this, I have lived in SO FL for 40 years, seen TONS of it at a time, and attended, well, let us say more than 1 party over the years where a kilo or two are poured out on the table for all to enjoy.

Now, I don't go to those parties anymore, but I can tell you that I haven't seen or been offered any in about 8 years. Sure, it is still around, but I believe that the majority of it that comes in here now goes to other countries.

Down here, we are all about pills. We sell about 120 MILLION downers a year so far, and kill about 7 people each day with them.

Natural selection at work, for the most part, I would say.

Cocaine and modern films? The insurance companies would have fits, and if you have not caught on yet, they run the world and have all the money.

Sorry to bust your fantasy bubble. Sherman may let you borrow his Wayback machine, however, if you wish to revisit the go-go 80's...

No, but read Don Felder's book on the history of the Eagles and you will get a first-hand account of those days. Evidently, they LIVED on the stuff for years according to what he wrote, and he had no reason not to tell it like it was.

Anyway, those days seem to be pretty much over, but then again I am not a 20-something musician so how would I know, right?

Cheers!
