Wife Isn't In on It
A lot of you are amazingly willing to take Joe Mantegna's character at his word. Sure, he said that Terry's wife was in on it - but he's the same sleazeball that caused so much havoc in the first place!
I just finished watching the film, and I got a completely different impression from that scene.
Take a closer look at dynamics of the scene where Terry is told that his wife betrayed him. Notice anything? Still not getting it? Try and remember who Terry asked to clean up the mess after the window was shot out...
Subtly and misdirection, people. Very Mamet.
(that having been said, I don't think Mamet is a genius, and I would only give this film a 5/10)
