Is MMA as corrupted as this movie portrays it?
I mean, I know it's just a movie, but I am a big fan of MMA. Is MMA in general really that corrupted in your opinion? Is fight-fixing a widespread practice? Thanks.

shareNo, not at all. Do some shady things happen? Sure, but no more than in any other professional sports.
And yes, I have been involved in pro boxing and pro MMA. Too old now to train seriously anymore, but I've been involved in plenty of training camps, multiple contract negotiations, and have worked the corner in a couple of professional fights (not anything you would see on TV; just local professional shows). One of the MMA coaches I had before has fought on a few of the WEC cards.
And like I said: no better or worse than any other pro sports.
"Any two guys fighting for money, no way the fight is fair"
shareIf MMA was corrupt the NSAC would bust it.
shareMany of MMA has been corrupted. it is well known among hard cores many fights were fixed in the pride days including fights with some of the biggest names even to this day. I believe UFC is still honest and true but hard to speak for lesser known orginations.
"No fear. No distractions. The ability to let that which does not matter truly slide."
Many sports have their corrupt people, but the sports aren't based on corruption alone.
Some people would dirty the name of sports just to win or get more money. Its the way of the world, we all need our necessary evil.
Look at 1995, the All Blacks team is poisoned before a match against South Africa.
