Ejiofor + Tim Allen + Mamet + martial arts = a pretty decent film

Kind of a weird formula for a film (I like unheard of films that have a weird pairing of actors and directors) but I enjoyed it. I came across it on cable and decided to give it a watch cause it seemed to be a weird set-up.

I'll be the first to agree that David Mamet isn't everyone's cup of tea. Some of his films just have his weird con-game obsessions but a Mamet train-wreck is always watchable. But Redbelt is more than decent, too bad it doesn't have much critical acclaim or viewership.

Honestly for me, for someone who HATED The Unit and a few of his later films are kinda passable, it was good to see that Redbelt is back to his Mamet-ishness.

It's too bad Ejiofor's Mike Terry wasn't a character on The Unit. It would've improved the show somewhat.
