Such a good movie once you realize it's potential

Watching this movie the first time I was a little pissed. I had to watch it a few times to realize a lot of things happened in a short period of time to condense it in the movie. Don't you all think this would have made an excellent television series if they stretched it out? from the issues with money in the academy, Mike Terry's wife, chet, the training to be in the tournament. they could have made a phenomenal series with this movie and idea I feel it was a shame it was put into this movie where it may not have gotten much credit. I still like the movie however I think a television series like that boxing show Lights Out would have done it justice. Anyone agree?

Maybe not a tv show but I would've gladly take another hour.

Indeed it had potential, but it also had Tim Allen. I loved the movie other than that one flaw.

I also find it hard to see fights getting sanctioned with guys fighting with handicaps. Not even in Japan. The movie had plenty of realism up until that point. They could have left it at fights being rigged with people taking dives like the brazilian guy who was fighting the japanese gent in the main event.

That being said it was also horribly depressing. Not alot of people could really get into that. Kinda like Foxcatcher, both movies were pretty much fictional.
