worst movie ever

If you're looking for a none stop action martial arts flick, don't even rent this movie because you will be seriously let down, and will leave you probably pissed off to. But if you're looking for a really well written, well developed movie with a really good plot thats well executed by Mamet, then this is a must see. Every little thing in this movie happens for a reason. All the plot points are interwoven seamlessly, and the end really brings it home. Great film. The most originally developed martial arts film I've ever seen....And Im a Martial Artist.

This movie just made no sense until the last few minutes of the film. There is no explanation who any of the characters are, or what significance they have in the plot.... you don't even really know what the plot is until teh end. As I said in my review, it's like watching a drama television series midway through the second season, and having no idea what's gong on.

I thought this movie very well portrayed the average Mc-dojo in this sense: The instructor likes to seem mysterious and beyond your feeble understanding, so you keep coming back to learn more... only to find out after many years, he was full of S$#!

This movie is the same way, it tries to stay mysterious... not really letting you know what's going on. It tries to make you feel that because you don't know what's going on, there must be so much more to grasp.

The same self-importance and bullsh@#$ that martial arts teachers portray is the same reason I hated this movie.

The same people that like this movie are the same people that shell out $150 a month to some guy who makes them think they are learning the secrets of the masters.
