really liked it but left me with some questions

1. what happened to the girls selling cookies, did they die or did he let them go, were they raped or not

2. did he rape all female victims or only a few

3. why were 27 tapes missing seems like an odd thing to include in the film without resolving this

4. was the guy someone in lawenforcment, forensics or criminal psycology

5. was the little girl taken at the begining the first victim or was this a police error

6. where did the killer get the cops seamen from to frame him,

7.why did cheryl mother not scream out for the police when she saw the guy with the camera they were literally a few feet away i know she was scared but the police were right there.

8. how did cheryls mum know the camera guy was the killer, at that point nothing qas known of him such as him using a camera

9. how did the killer know the cops would even check the internetmap/ip to locate or when they would figure it out, as it seemed he knew exactly when they would figure this out

reply

1. I think they were not harmed at all.

2. Probably most if not all

3. It just shows that the case will remain open for speculation

4. Probably

5. First victim since it was the most impulsive

6. The cop had visited a fertility clinic and he stole it from that.

7. She said she was in too much shock to do anything. she did say that she replayed the scene over and over in her head.

8. Just intuition I guess.

9. Probably goes back to question 4.

reply

One of the biggest questions for me is, if Cheryl's mother saw the face of the killer, why did she not say anything when the cop was caught? She would have known it wasn't him. Although I can understand that the evidence far outweighed some gut feeling.

reply

The face was most likely obscured by the camera.

1. he questioned them to establish if their parents knew where they were, they did and so he let them go. had they given the wrong answers things would have gone very badly for them

2. unconfirmed, but heavily implied that he did and that most, if not all, included post-mortem

3. possibly a sequel hook or just to make you ask that very question

4. unconfirmed. some of the profilers who'd worked on the case obviously thought so and his skill at throwing them off certainly imply that he's very familiar with how they work

5. first known victim and since the tapes are mentioned to be in numbered chronological order she's presumably the first documented on those tapes. possibly he had previous victims who were either not taped or whose tapes he deliberately excluded from that collection to further screw with the investigators

6. they theorise that he robbed a sperm bank, but they also mentioned that the cop frequented prostitutes which would provide another possible means of obtaining his DNA

7. shock presumably

8. gut feeling. given the oddity of a stranger with a camera approaching her as he did it's not unlikely that she'd get an 'off vibe' about him. she says she knew it was him but even in real life such statements usually only mean "I'm pretty sure but will admit to no doubt as that would throw the validity of my statement into doubt"

9. probably he wasn't sure they would but it was a safe bet. had they not made a move on his house he'd likely have sent them another clue
