Is it true that Mel Gibson directed this from home?

I've read that Mel Gibson might've directed this movie remotely. Did he pull a John Carpenter with this one?

Having seen it, it wouldn't shock me. This didn't feel like a Mel movie at all.

If only he had gone a bit more remote and stayed away from this turd of a script entirely, and anything even vaguely involving Mark Wahlberg. For shame, Mel.
