How much of the budget was for Seth Rogen's...acting?

Remembering yeah, he WAS one of the most bankable actors in the Apatow days of '05/'06. Which no doubt made the movie's failure to attract an audience beyond the usual Kevin Smith fanbase just...LIFE-alteringly hard to take for the guy. It was the failure of this flick that prompted Smith to scream at and cuss out Harvey Weinstein, right? and proceed to burn hollywood bridges by the dozens?

Whatever the case on that, I do know THIS was the movie that was supposed to be the re-birth of Kevin Smith, auteur...THIS was the one that, after a $300 million worldwide haul, he'd drop every one of his "View-a-screwed" people, move out of Ben Affleck's old house and divorce that lady who everyone on the internet seems to hate for various reasons. And it would be then that he'd finally become the director of some Vastly-budgeted Superhero Movie, and into the pantheon of filmmaking greats like Zak Snyder and the guy who directed Daredevil.

Directing some $200 million Comic Book movie has got to be the dream of all dreams for the guy...I mean...I just doubt that back when he was a kid lying awake at night, staring up at the dark ceiling and out into the future...dreaming those big dreams of youth...he was imagining a life where he was busy making ridiculous, trashy nonsense about men getting turned into a walruses.

And who knows? Maybe his day will still come. He obviously has the passion and infinite knowledge for a Superhero movie's subject matter, and it IS Hollywood, after all...the very same system that allowed The Wachowskis anywhere near one hundred and seventy-six million dollars, and all for a movie about a Wolfman from Outer Space who wears Rocket Shoes and whose job is to carry the ditzy girl from "That 70's Show" around on his back (and save...and LOVE)...and all after "Cloud Atlas" (d'oh!) AND "Speed Racer". (double-d'oh)

As you can see, stranger things HAVE happened than some studio throwing throwing enough money to fund a small country for a year to an expert like Kevin Smith.

What the heck are you babbling about? The thread title is about Rogens paycheck, which you talk about for like 3 sentences. then it becomes about this movie causing a downfall and Smith's reaction to it, then it turns into a diatribe about Smith needing to direct a comic book movie, then moves on to mentioning someone from 70s show, then cloud atlas, and finally speed racer.

Was there a real question or comment hidden anywhere in that nonsense?
