this will be hated by some ..............

More like bored with the race baiting genre.

Well, they don't have to watch it then.

Nah, not because of politics...I mainly just hated it because it sucked.

I watched it tonight because it was marketed as a horror film and I figured I would give it a chance. It wasn’t even close to a horror film. Nothing happens for the first 2/3 of the film, except the horrors of slavery we’ve seen in countless films before. I just kept waiting for anything else to happen.

Gabourey Sidibe also earned the distinction of putting, in my opinion, one of the most obnoxious characters to ever grace the screen on film for this one. She made me want to turn it off, but I stuck it out until the end.

The film was well acted at least. And I was expecting the message of “Black people are still slaves and oppressed, and white people are still racist” type symbolism all over the place, so that wasn’t any kind of a shock, but damn...this was just dull as can be, and one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time.

Oh well, sometimes you hit with movie picks, and sometimes you miss.
