Unhinged is more than vaguely a remake of Falling Down with Michael Douglas, except the main difference to me is that Russell Crowe's character is not nearly as sympathetic as DFENS. Both men are in similar situations, and are exacting vengeance against stereotypes that have harmed them in some way.

I was thinking the same thing, that Unhinged and Falling Down are the same story told from opposing perspectives. Kind of like Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers.
