so it just dawned on me, whilst watching this on television, that after 6 seasons and how many years they've all lived in new york, this is the first time you see carrie, or any of them take the subway. and the only reason she takes the subway is because it's new years eve and she can't get a cab.

Carrie takes the subway in the show to go ring bell at NYSE.
