Carrie after the breakup..

Was too much for me. Having Samantha spoon feed her? "Will I ever laugh again?" It seemed as though she was a teenager going through her first breakup. Yes, she was left at the altar. Yes, it was humiliating and it is completely understandable to be deeply hurt and upset, but to go to that extent is unbelievable. It was hard to watch her put Big through a huge wedding he was clearly having anxiety about, and how selfishly she acted through the whole thing. She made the entire wedding about herself, and never paused long enough to notice poor Big sitting in the corner freaking out. And then she gets to play the victim and acts like a china doll. Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm jaded, but come on girl, man up.

I don't agree. I have seen stronger women than Carrie fall to pieces at the loss of love. There's a reason why being dumped is often equated to experiencing a death, and it's not uncommon for people to feel physical pain as a result of a breakup. As a general rule, I consider myself to be a pretty strong person, but I have been broken up with/jilted a couple of times in my life, and I was in a great deal of pain as a result. If I wasn't at work (where I barely held it together, and only because I had to), then all I wanted to do was sleep because being awake was actually physically painful for me. Of course that subsided after a while and I was able to get up and get on with my life, but in my experience, the first several days after a breakup are absolutely brutal. And the relationships I was in were nowhere close to the seriousness of Carrie's and Big's.

I am watching it right now thinking the same thing! Yes, I realize a broken heart can crush someone, but he didn't really leave her at the altar. He said on the street that he was ready and he tried contacting her many times which means she had so many times to talk to him, but naturally Carrie has to be the drama queen. She couldn't milk it for all it was worth if she just talked to him like a grown adult.

When he said that he was ready on the street, I didn't believe him. Ten minutes ago, he was driving away from the wedding.

It's called grief.
And not only was she grieving, she was humiliated. Not just in front of friends and friends of friends, but also in front of her readers and people who would read the Vogue article.

You can literally died of a broken heart, so no, it's not unrealistic
