Rewatching this ... The way Carrie mopes around like her life is over is sickening. She has Samantha literally feeding her.. Miranda's husband cheated on her .. You didn't see her moping around and crying and making her friends stop their lives and leave their children to go to a resort. She's sooo selfish and disgusting.
shareI agree. Break-ups are awful , and she was indeed humiliated in front of the entire city as her high profile wedding fell through, but c'mon! Whose fault was that? For someone who has turned down Aidan for being too traditional about marriage, and almost threw up when trying on a wedding dress, she turned into a complete bridezilla in this one. No wonder Big got scared off. She completely ignored his feelings and anxieties, especially when she paraded the marriage that would be his third in every media outlet. When he voiced his concern about how that "made him look" to the public, she literally made a pouty face, forcing him to surrender. Who wouldn't get cold feet when about to marry someone they barely recognize and someone who ignores their feelings? Yeah, Big kind of pulled a dick move by bailing last moment, but Carrie was a dick throughout her entire existence. Must be nice to have loyal friends to pick up peaces of your trainwreck of a living.
Miranda was a bit extreme in how absolutely and surely she cut out Steve out of her life, but she had a good outlook on how separation is supposed to be handled in a healthy manner. She focused on herself and the well-being of her son, and that was all that mattered to her.
I would've handled my husband cheating on me the same way. I wouldn't wanna look at him, let alone have a conversation or live with him.
shareI think, in that sense, Miranda is stronger than Carrie. Although, it's two very different things, one is being cheated on, and one is being left at the alter (so to speak). Then again, that's what Miranda does, she cuts people completely and totally out of her life. I can see not wanting to speak to my S/O if they cheated on me but I give Miranda props for going to therapy, even though Carrie kind of had to talk her into it.
I mean, Big freaked out but then when Carrie drove by & they got out of their cars he said he was ready but instead of talking about it, she decides to hit him over the head with flowers & not speak to him for months. I get that he was always dicking her around & this was just yet another time, but I feel like she was way over dramatic.
Haha right, she is always so damn over the top like that. Makes her look incredibly weak. Guy dumps her at the alter and she can't even feed herself?
